We believe God created every city, no matter how small, for a divine purpose. Just as a person has a destiny - so does a city, a province and a nation.
We all have the ability to determine the destiny of Peterborough and our desire is to see the life-changing message of Jesus Christ define, inspire, and transform the entire city. We want everyone to discover their destiny in God and their purpose in Peterborough. Ask yourself this: why am I here? Are you in Peterborough for a reason – a reason more than just the obvious? We believe you are! God can change your life, Change This City, and the World! We believe Peterborough will be recognized around the world as an example of a compelling Christ centered city!
Vision:
Change This City is a God-inspired, faith-filled, action-oriented
vision of authentic and radical transformation of Peterborough’s
spiritual and social life.
Purpose:
Our purpose is to demonstrate action-oriented faith and work
together in unity with others to bring God-empowered community
transformation for the benefit of our city and region. We
are committed to forming strategic partnerships with individuals
and organizations involved in government, healthcare, education,
media/arts, social justice, business and economy, church/
para-churches (i.e. YMCA) and the environment to build a
common understanding that God’s
presence can make a difference in the moral, spiritual, economic,
and social climate of Peterborough.

We pray that Peterborough will be transformed by the life-changing
message and power of Jesus Christ. We ask that every area
of life in our city will be influenced, invaded by, and inspired
of God. Father, let your Kingdom come and your will be done
in Peterborough and in Canada as it is heaven.

Joel and Holly
Joel and Holly received the 'Change This City ' vision during a time in their life when they were confronting God on a number of frustrations they'd been feeling about Peterborough. They were desperate to leave the city and moved away for a short period of time, only to find themselves back in Peterborough again. Despite all their frustrations, they knew this was where they were meant to be. As a result of their committment to follow the will of God, they have been given a new enthusiasm for city transformation and together with a team of individuals sharing the same heart they are committed to seeing this vision become a reality. They are both passionate about Jesus and they choose a lifestyle of faith and serving that requires action outside the church walls. They strive for authenticity and transparency in their relationship with God and others and live as passionately as they believe! They are desperate to see a greater practical and supernatural expression of God’s existence in Peterborough.
Joel and Holly are especially concerned with seeing youth become committed to excellence in all areas of life: developing character, making positive healthy choices, and realizing their life's purpose. They recognize the need for greater intentionality in developing future leaders and they’re committed to finding creative ways to release emerging youth to serve effectively in their areas of gifting. As such, they started CTC (Change This City) Equip which operates out of their home church - Elim Family Worship Centre.
